I have no idea why this inspired me

I watched a strange video in class about a suicidal man. He drove to an alley, drew a giant circle with chalk  in the middle of the street as a "target". He climbed to the roof. At that moment, a young boy found the chalk and made the circle into a smiley face. The man looks down confused and doesn't jump. I was thinking- why are children that innocent? Do they effect people all the time like that but are too naive to realize it?
